Vodafone Fiji 7s arrives home

The Vodafone Fiji 7’s team arrived home to a heroes welcome at the Nadi International Airport.

The boys were mobbed by eager fans, waiting to congratulate them for the Gold Coast 7’s victory.

The reception area at the airport was filled to capacity, people shaking hands with the players, taking pictures and seeing the tournament up close.

The team was then driven to the Raffles Gateway Resort for a where newly elected Minister for Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou commended their performance in the Gold Coast.

“Well done boys, go and enjoy with your friends your families but remember discipline is essential if you want to remain in Ben Ryan’s good books. And I hope that this morning that the champions of the Oceania 7s are putting up their hand for the next leg. We look forward into seeing another great performance in Dubai later this year and repeat the last season’s performance.”

The boys will be back in camp next week to prepare for the Dubai 7’s in December.

Meanwhile, The Vodafone Fiji 7s is currently leading the World Series standings with 22 points, Samoa in second with 19 points, England in third with 17 points leaving behind South Africa with 15 points.
