Twenty four teams are competing in the Sigatoka River Safari Yamacia 7s, which started this morning in Navosa.
The tournament is being used as a qualifying tournament, with the winner to secure an automatic spot in the Baileys Coral Coast 7s next year.
Players from teams such as Wardens Gold, First Landing, Tovolea and Coastal Sanasana will be out to not only win the competition but to also impress national selectors.
Tournament organizer, David Dakuitoga says this is the third year they are staging the tournament and the level of competition has improved immensely.
He adds the organizers have been overwhelmed at the number of players coming forward to show their interest in the tournament.
The winner of the competition will win $3,000, runners up gets $1,500 and the semifinalists will settle for $1,000 each.
The finals will be held tomorrow.
