Tavua holds Nadi to a scoreless draw

The Tavua football side held Nadi to a nil-all draw in their opening match at the Courts Inter District Championship.

The newly promoted side won hearts of many neutral fans as a young side made an experienced Nadi team work hard in defense.

The team from the Gold mining town did miss some sitters which could have won them the match.

Tavua coach, Anand Sami was pleased with his teams performance but says they could have earned three points in the match.

“The boys p[layed according to the game plan we had talked about. It was a good game but we could have won. We will go back now and prepare for our next match.”

Tavua plays hosts Lautoka in their next match at 6pm tomorrow.

In another match completed, Rewa thumped Dreketi 5-1.

Ba plays Labasa at 5.30pm after which Lautoka battles Suva at 7.30pm.
