Fijian-born winger Seta Tamanivalu scored the opening try for the Crusaders to help his side defeated Lions 37-18 to claim their ninth Super Rugby title last night.

It was also the Lions’ third straight final loss after previously going down to the Hurricanes in Wellington in 2016 and the Crusaders at Ellis Park last year.

The Red and Black pack led 20-6 at halftime.

Five-eighth Richie Mo’unga created both first-half tries where he sent Tamanivalu over via a cut-out pass and sliced through to set up fullback David Havili’s try.
Crusaders then scored two tries in the second spell which came from Mitchell Drummond and Scott Barret.

Meanwhile, the Lions scored two tires in the match.

Crusaders extended a winning streak this season to 15 matches.
