Vodafone Cup Top 8 champions, Sabeto Roosters were taught a rugby league lesson by Papua New Guinea side, Agmark Gurias, losing 42-2 in the inaugural Melanesian Club Championship Challenge in Port Moresby over the weekend.

The competition pit the top club from Fiji and PNG against each other and the hosts proved too strong in the end.

Sabeto Roosters could only manage a penalty goal.

Next year, the Digicel Cup-winning team from PNG will travel to Fiji to play the winner of the Vodafone Cup.
