Wallabies captain Michael Hooper says Stephen Larkham’s axing will not be disruptive for the Test side, as Rugby Australia hunts for a replacement for the legendary fly-half.

Hooper says they have accepted the decision.

“It’s a tough situation and this things do happen and he has a wealth of knowledge and its disappointed and I know he’ll be disappointed that he won’t be around the team for someone who has done so much for that and to have him involved in Australian rugby going forward is fantastic.”

Rugby Australia CEO Raelene Castle admits it may take up to two months to replace Larkham, lending weight to speculation of a move for Scotland assistant Matt Taylor.
