Labasa in top form

The Labasa football side is now a step closer to achieving its aim of a top two finish in the Vodafone Premier League.

With four more games to go, the two wins last weekend has put Labasa in second position and are in strong contention to qualify for the OFC Champions League.

Coach, Gurjit Singh was impressed with the victories but knows they need to keep winning to maintain their position on the ladder.

“If you see our performance in both the games, we have started scoring goals which we lacked in previous games. We scored seven goals in two tough games. That is quite a positive sign for us. We are looking forward to other games for which we will need to train hard.”

Labasa plays Nadi at 7pm on Friday at Prince Charles Park while at the same time Lautoka will be playing Dreketi at Churchill Park.

In a lone match on Saturday, Ba hosts Suva at Govind Park at 3pm.

Three matches will be played on Sunday. Nadi takes on Dreketi at 3pm at Prince Charles Park while at the same time, Lautoka battles Labasa at Churchill Park.

Rakiraki hosts Rewa at 2pm on Sunday at a venue yet to be confirmed.
