Labasa in full force against football neighbours

April 13, 2012 1:04 am

The Labasa soccer team is out to pile up goals against Savusavu in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League match at Subrail Park on Saturday.

Interim association secretary, Satishwar Chand says although key defender, Penaia Bale will not be playing this weekend, the side has been training hard for the season.

“Our training has been going good. We are in full force and we need the public’s support. Penaia Bale, he was red carded against Navua so he has to miss one game but our number one goal keeper is back in action.”

The return of Fiji Under 23 goalkeeper, Akuila Mataisuva has boosted the confidence within the team for a big win at home.

The Labasa-Savusau match kicks off at 3pm while other league games will be at the same time on Sunday between Lautoka and Suva at Churchill Park and Navua taking on Rewa.

A live commentary of the Lautoka-Suva Sunday match will air on our sister station, Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
