Fiji Football Association is mourning the loss of former Nadi Football player Vivikananda Reddy.
Fondly known by the football fraternity as ‘Boy Reddy’, he passed away due to a serious illness.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said Reddy will be missed by the football family in Fiji.
“We have lost a great man, one who had football in his heart and football was his life. He immensely contributed towards the development of football in Nadi and leaves behind a legacy. On behalf Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel and board members and football fraternity, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family.”
Boy Reddy played for the Blues Soccer Club in Nadi before he was selected to represent Nadi.
He was also a member of the Nadi team that won the 1st Inter-District Championship Lloyd Farebrother Trophy in 1969 from Labasa.
