Financial boost for Champions match up

The Champion versus Champion series will only feature the winners of the four major tournaments in the season.

Fiji FA chief executive, Bob Kumar says this will be the practice from now on seeing the CVC will become the start to the new football season.

In the past, runners-up teams were considered to be a part of the series – meanwhile, Pillay Garments director, Narendra Pillay announced an increase in sponsorship.

“This is my tenth year sponsoring the CVC. I started off with $7,000 then I moveed up to $10,000. It later became $15,000 and now I’m giving $20,000 for the series – this includes uniforms for both teams and officials."

Suva takes on Ba in the first round at Churchill Park next Sunday – Ba will host Suva at Govind Park a week later.
