Fijian Netball and Fiji Rugby League gets Australian support

AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER SCOTT MORRISON

The Fiji Pearls netball side will be able to get the much-needed assistance ahead of the Netball World Cup in July.

This after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that they will be working with Netball Fiji in preparing our national netballers.

“The Australian government will work with Australia Netball to assist the Fiji national team to prepare for the Netball World Cup in the UK in July 2019 through our country support.”

Fiji is in Pool C with Jamaica and South Africa who are 4th and 5th seeds respectively with Trinidad and Tobago.

The Netball World Cup will be held from the 12- 21 July 2019 in Liverpool, England.

Meanwhile, Morrison has also highlighted that the Australian government will provide support for the travel cost associated with Fiji entering a team to compete in the New South Wales Rugby League in the Super Premiership in 2020.

He adds they are looking forward to the pre-season NRL matches being played in the Pacific including a match in Fiji in 2021.
