Fiji Warriors edged 17-15 by Queensland Reds

The Fiji Warriors were edged by the Queensland Reds super rugby team 17-15 last night during the final pre-season match for the Queenslanders at Ballymore Stadium.

The hosts led the Warriors 10-nil in the 10th minute of the first spell but loose head prop Tuwere Vugakoto used his strength to burrow over the try line and Enele Malele adding the extras for Fiji.

It was a 10-all draw during the halftime break and the Warriors broke the deadlock in the 59th minute as reserve hooker Ratunaisa Navuma forced his way over to push his side out to a 15-10 lead with the conversion unsuccessful.

Fiji maintained pressure but the Queenslanders managed to break through their defense and score in the 75th minute of play which was successfully converted that gave them a 17-15 victory.

The Fiji Warriors team will return today and prepare for the World Rugby Pacific Challenge which kick-starts next month.
