The Vodafone Fiji 7’s side is pleased to have made a good start in the defense of the World Sevens Series title.
The Ben Ryan coached side defeated England 28-17 in the final of the Dubai 7’s yesterday to lead the points table with 22 points.
Captain, Osea Kolinisau says the win in Dubai was important in getting their campaign on track.
“That is the overall plan before the Olympics to try and defend the series and we knew that Dubai is really important because it’s the start of a new series and we wanted to get ourselves off at a good start and get us rolling into the next tournament.”
The Cape Town tournament will be played this Saturday and Sunday.
Fiji has been pooled with Argentina, Scotland and Russia.
