Fiji has scooped another Gold medal at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

The Fiji women’s team won the Gold in Team Kata event from Karate.

New Caledonia finished second while PNG took bronze.

In the men’s event Fiji had to settle for Silver with New Caledonia taking out Gold and PNG taking out Bronze.

In Hockey, the Fiji men’s side won their first match accounting for Solomon Islands 22-1.

The Fiji Netball team plays Vanuatu at 7pm.

Athletics heats also get underway later today with Pacific sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro in action in the 100 metres heats.

Looking at the medal tally, Fiji has 15 gold, 22 silver and 19 bronze to remain in fifth spot on the medal tally.
