Water sources identified for future

The Water Authority has identified more water sources to tackle dry water spells in the future.
Currently the Authority has forty-five water sources around the country.
Due to the current dry weather spell, the Authority’s nineteen water resources has reached critical level.
WAF Board Chair Kamal Goundar says they are looking at investing more into the water sources.
“At the moment in Labasa we have identified atleast three or four and also in Taveuni, we are looking at options in the Western division.”
Meanwhile, the Water Authority will be conducting a stakeholder consultation meeting today to give an update on the current prolonged dry spell and the measures that have been put in place by the authority.
