The hearing of a twenty-one-year-old villager of Lomaiviti charged with one count of defilement will begin today.

It is alleged the accused defiled a fifteen-year-old High School student at the village in April last year.

The matter was reported to the Police in September when it was discovered that the victim is pregnant.

The villager will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court, this afternoon.
