Issues such as illegal operation, color coding, private cars operation, overloading and so on were part of discussion between the Fiji Taxi Union and the Land Transport Authority this week.
Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary Rishi Ram says the meeting allows the union to raise such issues and hoping they will be resolved.
He says processing taxi color coding is an issue that most drivers are concerned about.
“I raised that issue and they said it’s beyond their control and they will also liaising with their superiors because it’s a new issue and if we were consulted we would have given our opinion .so now since we have made our submission to the Minister and to the LTA Chairman ,we look forward for something positive.”
Ram says the Union will this weekend visit all members of the union in Viti Levu.
Meanwhile FBC News seeks comment from LTA Board Chairman Vijay Maharaj however was unsuccessful.
