The Social Democratic Liberal Party’s Management Board says no action will be taken in the interim against senior executives of the party given the allegations of bad governance.
Acting Party President, Anare Jale says they are following their constitutional provisions and working through their grievance processes.
He clarifies that in light of the allegations against senior executive members of the party, no one will be stood down until after the Arbiter’s report is submitted.
“A report is expected from the Arbiter by the 21st of June, so certainly in that report, there will be recommendations, there will be findings that will guide the party on what to do. Yes there have been issues raised on the governance of the party.”
Meanwhile, former Fiji TV Chief Executive and a leading financial and management consultant, Mesake Nawari has been appointed as the independent Arbiter to assess the issues.
Serious allegations of bad governance, lack of transparency and accountability has been filed by the party’s Youth President Jope Koroisavou against senior members of SODELPA.
FBC News understands among the allegations is the misappropriation of close to half a million dollars in campaign funding.
