October 8, 2015 5:23 am

The major attraction of the Fiji Day Military Parade tomorrow will be an all female officers detachment.

Fiji Military Forces Land Force Commander, Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho says the parade and a 21-gun salute is a military tradition that is conducted annually on Fiji Day.

‘’There are six detachments of 66 military personnel in each detachment. And it is more important for us as it will be the last Fiji Day parade for His Excellency before he retires from office. And also the big difference this year is that we have a complete detachment of female soldiers and commanded by female officers – so the whole 66 in the 5th detachment are all females’’.
