Ministers who gathered at the 20th Conference of Commonwealth Education meet have emphasized the need to prioritize and expand access to education.
The Nadi declaration that was adopted after the Conference, highlights the need to also have quality teaching as a priority area.
Commonwealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland, says the objectives of the meeting were met as the ministers had robust discussions.
Minister for Education, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the discussions over the past days were important as they focused on improving the quality of education.
Sayed-Khaiyum says the Conference was also an advantage to Fiji as it brought together Commonwealth countries to look at how education can be improved.
He says discussions allowed each country to take ideas and apply them in their education system.
