The Fiji Police Force is warning the owners of the Atlas Trading building and the insurance company of the building to sort themselves out and help ensure that the looting to the building stops.

The warehouse, which caught fire a fortnight ago, has been victim to looters since the weekend.

Police were on the scene yesterday afternoon to chase the people away and have sealed off the area.

Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri says the Police are now urging the people not to loot.

He says they are also very concerned about how many children are involved in this looting.

“The Police Force is concerned about the amount of children that are sifting through the debris of the warehouse. We also want to warn parents not to take their children into the warehouse as the unstable structure could collapse and injury anyone under it at any time.”

Investigations into the cause of the blaze that destroyed the warehouse continue.
