The decision of the Speaker of the House Dr. Jiko Luveni to suspend National Federation Party MPs has been endorsed by Parliament.

The House of Representatives voted on a motion by Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum with 29 in favour of the Speakers decision.

14 voted against the motion while 7 MPs did not vote.

NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad, President Tupou Draunidalo and MP Prem Singh are suspended from the sittings of the House for the duration of time that the NFP is suspended as a political party.
