Parents need to play a lead role in ensuring the protection of their children.

With the recent alarming statistics of child rape and sexual assault cases – Chief Justice Anthony Gates says parents should be cautious about leaving their children under the care of others.

Gates says parents play a huge role in protecting their children and they must not let their guard down even if a relative lives with them in the same house.

“Nobody wants to see fathers and brothers send to prison but at the same time children must be protected.”

The Chief Justice also stressed that there’s a great need for research to be conducted to find out the root cause of this growing problem.
