New Zealand’s Foreign Minister, Winston Peters says they’re ready to assist Fiji in this year’s General Election.

Speaking to Radio Tarana, the minister says he hopes for a free and fair election.

“Well they have asked us to help out with the construction of that election and we’ve said yes we will and as you know we stand for free and fair election and everybody understands that’s what we want.”

Peters says they had received a request from Fiji acquiring assistance for the 2018 election.

Meanwhile, the Fijian Elections Office has already received voting screens from the New Zealand Electoral Commission for this year’s general election.

These screens will ensure that voting is being kept a secret on Polling Day when Fijians vote.
