New Zealand was at the forefront to help Fiji

New Zealand was at the forefront and helped Fiji in the adaptation of the Koronivia joint work on agriculture that will help develop and outline new strategies for adaptation and mitigation within the agricultural sector.

Minister Responsible for Climate Change Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says they aso partnered with Fiji to launch the local communities and indigenous people platform.

“It is intended to give greater voice to local communities in climate negotiation and allow them to share traditional knowledge and best practices on reducing emissions and adapting climate change and building resilience.”

Sayed-Khaiyum says it is really refreshing to people in the Pacific to have a larger economy on the fringes of the Pacific Island like New Zealand that has taken up the initiatives.
