New trucks to enhance service delivery for Nasinu

The Nasinu Town Council will acquire two nine tonne Garbage Compactor Trucks to supplement its current fleet.

This was been made possible following a grant agreement between the Council and the Japanese Government.

Nasinu Town Council Special Administrator, Mosese Kama says the new Garbage Trucks will enhance their rubbish collecting services.

“The amount of waste collected annually is 16 million kg or 16000 tonnes which equates to 4000 to 5000 truckloads. Benefits that we will acquiring obtaining these 2 trucks collection will go faster and more efficient, there will be less trips to the land field which is in Naboro that also equates to less fuel cost.”

The Japanese Government will provide over four hundred and forty-nine thousand dollars to the Council through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects for the trucks.

The council serves around 120 thousand ratepayers.
