New Caledonian president Cynthia Ligeard has congratulated Prime Voreqe Bainimarama on his victory following the 17 September General Election.

In her congratulatory message, President Ligeard congratulated Bainimarama on behalf of the Members of the government of New Caledonia.

She says in 2011, New Caledonia initiated a cooperation programme with Fiji in the cultural, educational and sports areas in particular.

She adds the projects in progress articulate New Caledonia’s continuing commitment to regional integration through the development of a closer relationship with Pacific Island states.
