MOU signed to enhance collaboration

A Memorandum of Understanding signed yesterday between the South Pacific Stock Exchange and its counterpart from New Zealand is designed to enhanced collaboration between the two Exchanges.

South Pacific Stock Exchange Chair Dr Nur Bano Ali says the NZ Stock Exchange is a larger market and more advanced in many product developments, so the SPSE will gain a lot from them.

Dr Ali says the partnership will see improvements in computer technology, establish a mechanism to facilitate inter-market investment flow and investors access to different investment options.

“This will see exchange of ideas, exchange of staff going across to New Zealand which we have discussed to be able to learn and develop it further and a wide in roads into a more global platform through this relationship .So this is the kind of things that we will be benefiting from and we are very excited.”

New Zealand Stock Exchange Chair James Miller says it’s important to bring the two Exchanges together to develop an increasing united financial market in the South Pacific.
