More can be done to improve the welfare of our former and current peace-keepers to UN missions.

Fiji Military Forces Commander Viliame Naupoto highlighted this as they received suggestions from relevant stakeholders on ways to improve the welfare of our peace keepers.

Naupoto says they will continue to find ways to protect them and their families.

“I have some very good suggestions from the Minister for Women, and we certainly need to not only look after our peace keepers well as there is also a task of providing the necessary support to their families.”

Over the past four decades, around 30,000 Fijians served as UN Peacekeepers around the world.

This includes the nine hundred Fijian peacekeepers who are currently serving under the UN banner.
