The Communications Ministry has released a statement to clarify the redemption of remaining monies on disposable e-transport cards.
Acting Permanent Secretary for Communications – Sharvada Sharma says despite existing, clearly-stated regulations regarding disposable e-Transport cards balance redemptions, recent conversations in the media would suggest that some are still uninformed on the matter.
He says the balance on any disposable e-Transport card––no matter how small the amount––can be redeemed for cash value at any Vodafone retail outlet (including authorized Vodafone dealerships, Mr. Mobile and Valuefone outlets) within 30 days of its first use.
If the balance of a disposable card is not redeemed before its expiration date, any funds still remaining on the card will be transferred to the ICT Trust Fund, at which point the card becomes void and non-refundable.
Permanent e-Transport card funds have no expiration date.
