A nineteen-year-old man has been sentenced to ten years six months imprisonment for raping his neighbour.

The incident happened in December last year in Nasinu when the victim who was ten-years-old at that time was alone at home.

The Court heard the boy’s brother had gone to the neighbour’s house to download movies and his father was also away.

The man knocked on the victim’s door and when he opened the door he pushed him and as a result the boy fell on the floor.

The Court heard when the complainant tried to scream, the man threatened him to keep quiet or else he will punch him.

He then dragged the boy to the bedroom and raped him.

The man will be eligible for parole after serving eight years, six months imprisonment.
