A 25-year-old man charged with escaping from lawful custody in the Suva Magistrates Court has been further remanded.

Isireli Matasau is alleged to have escaped on the 12th of last month after attending his court case.

The court heard that he was returning from court with three other inmates when he escaped.

He was later arrested on the 21st of last month in Raiwai, Suva.

He will re-appear in court on the 20th of this month for plea.
