A 54- year- old man who allegedly caused the death of a 7-year- old boy in Lautoka on Tuesday appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates court today.

Businessman Pravin Sewak is charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death.

According to Police, the boy was crossing the Natabua junction on Tuesday afternoon when it’s alleged a vehicle driven by Sewak hit the boy.

Sewak has been released on $500 bail with a surety and a stop departure has been issued against him.

The matter will be called on 30th July for mention and plea.
