November 4, 2015 4:10 am

The Monasavu Landowners Association is calling on government to review the payment of royalties from the Fiji Electricity Authority.

This was recommended to the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during a talanoa session in Monasavu yesterday.

According to the landowners they are still being paid two cents per unit from FEA for the past thirty years and no review had been done.

Landowners Spokesperson Samuela Konataci says FEA has been recording major profits in the past thirty years and yet the landowners are still getting the same royalty payment of two cents per unit.

FEA Board Chairman Nizam-ud Dean told the landowners, the review of the lease royalties is done every ten years.

The last review was done in 2013 and next one will be in 2023.
