The Reserve Bank in its latest economic review says the labour market conditions remained favorable last year.

The RBF’s Job Advertisement Survey revealed an increase of 7.8 percent in the number of vacant positions advertised last year.

Higher recruitment intentions were noted from the wholesale and retail, trade and restaurants, hotels, community, social and personal services, transport, storage and construction sectors.

This was supported by the decline in unemployment rate as revealed by the recent census results.

The RBF says going forward, employment prospect remain largely positive and are expected to be supported by the positive growth momentum.
