Last year the Mill faced a few challenges due to a problem with its shredder which is now fixed.

Ratu Wiliame has urged cane farmers to continue to ensure sufficient cane supply so crushing runs smoothly.

“The Labasa Sugar Mill contributes around 44 percent of the total sugar tonnage, which is significant. The company acknowledges that the growth will come from the North.”

The Labasa Sugar Mill aims to crush 700,000 tonnes of cane this season.
