The government is calling on the private sector including institutional investors to undertake the design and construction of purpose-built government offices.

Attorney-General and Finance Minister, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum says government will save on capital expenditure by entering into long-term lease arrangements with building owners.

‘’The government’s main business is to provide service, government’s main business is not to own buildings so by getting somebody else to own the building and we simply leasing it, we save on our capital expenditure but we also getting a particular level of service delivery and so it’s just being a whole lot more financially smarter’’.
