A class seven student of Labasa died Friday afternoon after she fell off a mango tree.

The victim was fetching mangoes after school when the incident took place.

Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri says the victim was seen lying unconscious under the mango tree by a passerby and rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Parents and guardians are advised to be vigilant during the festive season.
A post mortem is expected to be conducted on tommorrow.
