More rural roads in the Western Division will be upgraded soon.

Fiji Road Authority chief executive, Jonathan Moore, confirms they will focus on improving roads in the rural areas of the West this year.

“We want to get into the interiors because there is a lot of poor roads that need to be made better into the rural areas and when you are driving in a rural road it’s not just the fact it’s a slow drive its uncomfortable its wrecks your car. It shortens the life of your car, it’s inefficient and there’s a lot of people coming from the rural areas into the towns in the Western Division.”

Moore says they are focusing on the West as most rural roads there are in a bad state.
