Former bank officer pleads guilty

A former bank officer who is charged with one count each of serious computer offence and theft pleaded guilty to the charges.

Ratu Peni Semira is alleged to have taken advantage of the system access allocated to him.

He allegedly carried out two hundred and forty seven illegal transactions from sixty seven individuals, who had their accounts with the Bank.

As a result he withdrew more than eighty seven thousand dollars.

He committed the offence between November, 2013 and October 2014 in a Bank in Ba.

The case will be recalled on the 26th at the Suva Magistrates Court.
