Minister for Education Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has ordered for an investigation to be conducted in the Education Ministry.
He says the investigation is to find out education officials who were involved in leaking personal information of teacher’s contracts and salaries on social media.
Sayed-Khaiyum says there has been enormous information publicized on social media and the investigation will also be on the many inconsistent information from the Ministry.
“So we actually going to start the investigations in this respect and that starting from Tuesday in this coming week and I am getting some people from outside the Ministry including people from the civil service reform management unit and some people from other ministry to identify people who are creating these issues.”
Civil Service Reform Unit Director Jane Curran will be chairing the independent investigation into issues of non-performance, deliberate giving out of wrong information and leaks of teachers’ personal information.
He says those found responsible will be held accountable.
