Two arrested for aggravated robbery

Two men will be produced at the Tavua Magistrates Court for their alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery last week.

Meanwhile, a third has been charged for allegedly receiving the stolen goods.

The two accused persons aged 19 and 22 years, both mechanics from Navo in Nadi allegedly forcefully entered the home of a 64-year-old woman on the 8th of November and stole assorted items worth close to $2,000.

Investigators gathered information about their whereabouts and a team conducted a raid at Nakavika, Ba where they were arrested and taken into custody.

Investigators also managed to gather the information that the two had allegedly sold the goods to a 29-year-old construction contractor in Lautoka for $300 and split the money.

The officers conducted a search at the alleged receiver’s home and recovered the stolen items.

The two have both been charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of theft while the 29-year-old from Lautoka has been charged with one count of receiving stolen property.

All three will be produced at the Tavua Magistrates Court today.
