Collaborative approach is needed: Kalesi

The increasing use of hard drugs has led to the establishment of a National Taskforce-Drug Harm Prevention Team which is currently in discussion.

This is being done to help curb the growing drug concern in Fiji.

The Chief Executive of the N.G.O. Volatabu Group Kalesi Volatabu says everybody including the youth, faith-based organizations and individuals have roles to play in drug prevention.

“At the end of the day we have got this taskforce but what is more crucial is that we need the whole nation to come together to actually help the task force in order to raise awareness and to lead the way towards drug free Fiji. It’s all about harm prevention.”

Volatabu says representatives from different Ministries and NGO’s will work together in terms of drug prevention.
