The current census registration drive is attracting thousands of unemployed people around the country.

Census Team Leader, Filimena Brown told FBC News the one month drive provides an opportunity for those looking for temporary jobs.

“Majority of the people coming in are school leavers and people who are unemployed and staying at home looking for opportunities to be employed. We’re looking at recruiting two thousand one hundred and fifty six enumerators and six hundred and fifty supervisors and three hundred reserves altogether after this recruitment drive.”

Brown says the drive will continue this week into the Western, Northern and Eastern divisions.
