Out of 15 hundred hopefuls, Daphne Baleiwabu is the luckiest of the lot scoring the win for GoldFM’s much sort after Queen of Country Pop Shania Twain competition.
A return ticket for two to New Zealand, NZD$1, 000 in spending money and two tickets to Shania’s concert is a Christmas come early for the Baleiwabu family.
Baleiwabu who’s taking her 9-year-old daughter with her on their first overseas trip, says the win is still sinking in.
“Oh my gosh, I got home and my son passed on the message and I couldn’t believe it, I said to myself, I have to hear it, I have to hear it from somebody at FBC and Kara called in the afternoon and oh my Gosh is it for real?”
Meanwhile, Gold FM’s Program Director Karalaini Koroi says this four month competition is the third this year for GoldFM with previous winners enjoying Lionel Richie and Celine Dion live in concert.
Koroi says Gold FM’s avid listeners can expect more of these fabulous prizes to see some of their all-time great artists live, up close and personal.
