The Ambassador is reassuring Fijians that the doctors on the floating hospital have a comprehensive level of experience in their service.

“For all the illness that will be treated – it will be a quick treatment even if it is an operation. However, all the necessary screening, information and statistics will be carried out by the Health Ministry. After the surgeries all the clinic record will be given back to the local Hospital for them to carry on with the required treatment. So this will be a very smooth and successful handover.”

Bo says after the thirty surgeries are conducted, patients will remain on board the Ark Peace, where they will receive follow up treatments by the Chinese nurses.

He adds in the future, the Chinese civil hospitals will carry out training sessions with Fijian doctors to assist and equip them in surgical treatment.

The vessel will be in the country from August 2nd to 9th from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily.

The Ambassador says this visitation is part of the Chinese Mission Harmony 2018 which promotes good faith and friendship.
