Three new Permanent Secretaries have been appointed by the Public Service Commission.
Australian, Deborah Weiss is the new Permanent Secretary, Communication and Information Technology a position that has remained vacant for a long time for want of the most suitable candidate.
The PSC says Weiss has over twenty years of very relevant experience as a senior operational and management executive in both the private and government sectors of Australia.
It also says Weiss who takes office from 9th September, will carry forward an ambitious agenda in digitalization and advanced communication.
David Kolitagane moves from the Agriculture Ministry to Rural and Maritime Development where he had been Acting Permanent Secretary since December 2018.
The PSC says backed by his experience in multiple portfolios and proven performance, Kolitagane is ideally suited to take the portfolio to its next level to fulfill the government agenda in this area.
Replacing Kolitagane, Ritesh Dass is the new Permanent Secretary for Agriculture. Dass was the Chief Executive of British American Tobacco in Fiji.
The PSC says Dass is an experienced and versatile executive who has significant exposure to the Agriculture sector.
Dass will take up his role on October 1st.
