Roadside vendors receive new and improved stalls

Kumaran and Murgessan have been selling on the roadside from a make-shift shelter for more than two decades and now have their very own new and improved standardized roadside stalls.

Being exposed to the hot sun, rain and strong wind while selling fruits and vegetables on the roadside, will now be a thing of the past for 49-year-old Vijay Kumaran and 54-year-old Murgessan of Raviravi, Ba.

Kumaran and Murgessan have been selling on the roadside from a make-shift shelter for more than two decades and now have their very own new and improved standardized roadside stalls.

Kumaran thanked the government for the initiative as the roadside market has improved his lifestyle and health.

He adds such initiatives are good for farmers, as it’s an indication that the customers will continue to buy from them as the stalls are hygienic.

The stall has encouraged them to plant more vegetables and new crops.

This pilot project takes the marketing of the small businesses to an entirely new level, a new look, a new level of reliability and a new opportunity for all vendors to capitalize on and increase their profits as vendors.
