Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar says the donation will help the daily operation of the Council.

“We thank the Japanese government most humbly for their generosity in addressing solid waste management and by providing this compacted truck. Definitely it will help us in the collection of this garbage within Nasinu district”.

Kumar highlights that the initiative indicates the need to create a cleaner environment and waste free public spaces.

JICA has also been assisting Council by allocating volunteers to assess the solid waste management collection services.
