More talented weightlifters have been identified in a weightlifting competition that was held at the Rabuka Gym by Weightlifting Fiji.

Fiji Sports Commission Chair – Peter Mazey says after the recent competition they have discovered talents which could be developed for future competitions.

The competition that features new weightlifting clubs around the country produced some very talented weightlifters.

“All this new clubs from Serua all participated in it. We brought in talents that have been identified from Kadavu and they’re training at the National Gymnasium. It’s carrying on and new talents are coming up.”

Weightlifting Fiji Vice President Della Shaw says Fiji has a lot of raw talents in Weightlifting and it’s good to see people turning up in numbers.

Weightlifting Fiji is hoping to take some of its best lifters to represent Fiji in the Pacific Games in Samoa later in July.
